i like my body when it is with your

I really enjoy reading ee cummings. I became a fan in high school in an American Literature class. ee cummings poetry was the first poetry I "got." Earlier tonight, a blog buddy of mine posted the poem below on her fabulous blog Bethany's World. It's one of my personal favorites for many reasons.

    I have to tell you this...Last year on ee cummings birthday, Garrison Keillor read this on "The Writer's Almanac". It was quite possibly the creepiest thing I've ever heard. It was a little like, I don't know, finding your weird uncle's porn stash or something.

    I also love, love, love this poem, but now I tend to hear it in my head with this very whistle-y, sibilant "s". *shudder*
