Cool Stuff Happening TODAY on My Birthday!

At 5:01pm PT, California will join Massachusetts as the second state in the country to legalize gay marriage. It's about damn time. For the record, only a handful of states allow civil unions of same sex couples. Illinois isn't one of them. The pic above is of my friends Tim and Tony at their civil union on August 15, 2004 in Vermont. To read their whole story, visit Our Big Gay Wedding. You'll laugh and you'll cry and you'll wish your relationship was as strong as theirs is.

The Cubs are playing in the final Hall of Fame baseball game today in Cooperstown. They have played in the Hall of Fame game seven times, including the first ever game back in 1940, which they won. UPDATE: Due to thunderstorms in central New York, the game was cancelled. That's okay, we don't want to risk an injury to the first place Cubbies

Former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Al Gore is endorsing Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee for President. Wow. That's a real Profile in Courage. With all due respect Vice President Gore, what were you afraid of? Bill and Hill can't do anything to you anymore. They can't take away the Nobel Peace Prize. What took you so long?
